Young Adults???
I would think to read the book you would have to understand what rape is otherwise you wouldn't understand what was happening and you would have to be rather mature about it and not go "OMG THIS IS GROSS, yucky" and all and escepially if yuo get the part you would have to be mature!

Well, my friends tell me I'm immature, but I don't think I am really... I just have a sick mind sometimes... That's a really good point by the way Kate

What do you mean???
I guess at school, and at activities I can be mature - like I never do something that could harm people or is stupid!

And to be an actress you would have to be kindish mature - being responsible and getting to set, filming sensibly, learning lines and be maturfe about leaving home and friends and famly for awhile!

I'm mature...I think....a lot. But I do get a bit crazy sometimes. Also, it is a young adult's book. Also I think, too, that you have to be mature to be an actress. You have to get to set on time, be obedient, listen, memorize lines, etc. But also you can always play the occasional prank or two

As long as the directors are mellow and not mean!

yah, i think all directors get upset sometimes and get frustrated but its usually just because they want it done their way and they don't want to explain it..

UPDATE ABOUT LOVELY BONES: This was featured in the local newspaper, about Peter Jackson talking about The Lovely Bones.
He said, he found it hard to find a proper place in NZ to film all of the movie so there will only be some studio work in NZ, and they're not sure where else, or if they can find a proper place in NZ! He wants it to have humour not be all gory and frightening! The crew is not looking for a girl yet, they will worry about casting, closer to the date - do not hassle them! Peter was thinking maybe a 10-11 year old who will be 14 closer to the time of filming, but has changed his mind - he knows nothing about casting yet - neither does the crew!
Peter plans to start filming late 2007 and he is writing the script with a few other people now - he was set as producer, but now set as director!
